Is this the most anticipated day, or what? Talk of a huge warm up has been going on for about a week and everybody wants a taste of spring now. Well, I need to urge everyone to have patience.
The marine layer will put the warm-up on hold for a while. Fog will be thick Wednesday morning. But with brightening and sunny breaks in the afternoon, temps will soar.
This warm-up isn't for the entire state, though. The SW breeze that will mix out the fog and mix in the warmer air is not a favorable direction for all. The coastline, especially Midcoast and Downeast, will struggle to rise above 50 Wednesday.
A front will end the party Wednesday evening. Winter battles back with colder temps and two chances for snow as we approach the weekend. The first is a wave of low pressure Thursday evening that will graze far southern Maine. And the second on Friday night, will deliver a wintry mix with some minor snow accumulation expected.
