CONLEY BLOG: Chilly this weekend, then maybe more snow

The first day of Spring is Tuesday, but as you already know, the dates don't matter when it comes to Maine weather...

This St. Patrick's Day weekend is going to be cold, 10-15° below normal cold. High temperatures both Saturday and Sunday only make it to the 20s and overnight lows could get as cold as the single digits, even at the coast.

But everyone's talking about the snow potential next week so lets discuss in a little more detail.

A couple days ago we were thinking a significant Tuesday/Wednesday storm situation, but as you have probably noticed, things change in Maine weather, and this storm is no exception. Models are split right now on if some of us will even get snow!

The Euro (aka our old favorite) keeps the low mostly to our south and east, but could pull in enough moisture to bring an inch or so to Downeast and Northern Maine on Thursday night. Southern Maine would be hit with exactly zero snow. Am I finally making friends back?!

The GFS (aka the American model, which actually did well with the last storm) brings a little 4-6" scenario to the coast on Wednesday night. Anddd my friends are gone again.

Long story short, we don't know yet when or if much will happen, but we're watching. Maybe a little luck o' the Irish will help us out.
