Sea Dogs introduce new manager

PORTLAND (NEWS CENTER Maine) -- The Portland Sea Dogs have a new man managing their team this year.

Officials formally introduced Darren Fenster at a press conference today. The New Jersey native will be the thirteenth manager in 25 seasons of Sea Dogs baseball.

Fenster spent the last four years with the Greenville Drive, a Single A affiliate of the Red Sox, where he lead them to their first championship in team history last season. Fenster may see some familiar faces in the Sea Dogs dugout as players try and make their way to the majors.

"When you're in Greenville, if you're having a player again, that probably means that they've struggled," Fenster says. "The fact that I'll be here with a lot of guys who have come through Greenville, it says that they are doing something right and they're developing on the right path, and I'm excited to see them at a different stage in their careers."
