(NEWS CENTER) -- The Scarborough, Marshwood, MCI and Wells communities had a lot to celebrate over the weekend as each of their high school football teams took home a gold ball. Now its time to look back on the season and recognize the people that helped make each team so successful.

Nominations are open for the Frank Gaziano award, which provides two $5,000 scholarships to the unsung heroes on a football team, the lineman.

The award isn't just about on-field performance says Luke Libby, the 2011 defensive lineman winner and a selection committee member.

"Frank Gaziano was all about community service, and we really want to capture that with this award," says Libby. "That's the whole reason they started this. He was a lineman, and this is for everyone after him to match that."

To nominate a lineman on your team, have your coach go to gazianolinemanawards.org and submit an application by December 4th.
