FOXBOROUGH, MA - JANUARY 13: Dion Lewis #33 of the New England Patriots carries the ball in the second quarter of the AFC Divisional Playoff game against the Tennessee Titans at Gillette Stadium on January 13, 2018 in Foxborough, Massachusetts.

(NEWS CENTER Maine) — Patriots running back Dion Lewis is expected to sign with the Tennessee Titans, according to an ESPN report.

Adam Schefter tweeted Tuesday night citing a source that the 27-year-old intended to sign a four-year deal with Tennessee to play under former Patriots linebacker Mike Vrabel.

Lewis is the third Patriots player in 12 hours to commit to playing elsewhere next season — according to other reports, wide receiver Danny Amendola is planning to sign with AFC East foe Miami and cornerback Malcolm Butler is expected to join Lewis in Tennessee.

The Patriots debuted Lewis in 2015 when he started in place of LeGarrette Blount, who had been suspended. He saw great early success until a torn ACL put him out for the season. Lewis returned in 2016 and helped lead the Patriots to a win in Super Bowl LI.

New England's crowded backfield resulted in Lewis seeing less carries as of late.
