(NEWS CENTER Maine) -- The Bowdoin women's basketball team lost in the NCAA DIII championship game after a fourth-quarter surge by Amherst, 65-45.
After three quarters, Amherst led 42 to 36, but went on a 7-0 run to start the fourth quarter, and never looked back.
The Polar Bears lost to Amherst 49-45 in January.
This was Bowdoin's second trip to the championship game. They lost to Wilmington (Ohio) 59-53 in the 2004 championship game.
