Bowdoin falls to Amherst in DIII National Championship

Amherst College repeats as Division III champions

(NEWS CENTER Maine) -- It was a three point game at halftime, but Amherst exploded in the fourth quarter, going on a 23-0 run to take down the Bowdoin Polar Bears 65-45 in the DII National Championship game.

Bowdoin's season ends in record fashion. The team recorded the second most wins in school history at 29, and played in the second DIII National Championship game in program history.

Division III Player of the Year Kate Kerrigan had six points, eight rebounds and a steal in her final game with Bowdoin.
