BANGOR (NEWS CENTER Maine) -- A high school basketball coach has resigned after being charged with operating under the influence.

Bangor Boys' Head Coach Carl Parker was absent from the sidelines in the Ram's Friday night playoff game in Windham after being arrested over the weekend for OUI. Jon McAllian, the Rams' junior varsity coach, stood in for him.

McAllain says Parker's resignation shows players that they have to own up to their mistakes. He also said the news was tough for the team to hear.

The Rams lost to the Eagles on Friday night 78-62.
