Why he participated:
- Feels that students need to speak out…students aren’t getting what they need from adults.
- MDI is doing everything it can to provide a safe environment but he still doesn’t feel safe.
- Gun control is a big part of the answer. Semi-automatic weapons should be banned…understands some gun owners have them for the right reasons.
- Talks about this issue with his friends all the time and feels like it’s a big concern to them as well.
IN HIS OWN WORDS: 'I was home schooled until this year, so going to school was a very scary prospect for me. Once I started hearing about all of these shootings, it just got… it was very terrifying because I was walking into an environment that I didn’t understand, and that I didn’t know about. And on top of that I had to worry about where I was going to go if something happened.'
