6 Who Care: Betty Robinson

Betty Robinson’s lifelong goal to help children learn and become the future of Maine began as a professor, then as a dean, and continues to be realized through volunteering with the Tree Street Youth Center in Lewiston, Maine.

The center serves the youth of Lewiston-Auburn through programs rooted in academics, the arts, and athletics in a safe space that encourages healthy physical, social, emotional and academic development while building unity across lines of difference.

Betty has been with Tree Street since its inception in 2011. With her humor and great work ethic, Betty guided more than 500 youths annually towards learning how to set and achieve goals.

Betty serves on the finance, executive, and building committees to help grow Tree Street Youth Center in the right direction. She continues to work directly with those she serves as den mother, cheerleader, and mentor to the youth within the program.

She has the ability to see the best in everyone and is teaching the youth of Tree Street Youth Center to achieve a future they never thought possible.
