Cincinnati police took in a 3-year-old boy they found wandering the streets in the west side of Cincinnati, Ohio, overnight Tuesday.

Sgt. Daniel Hils, president of the Fraternal Oder of Police #69, posted a photo on the group's Facebook page early Tuesday showing an officer helping the boy. The officers found the "little guy" on Montana Avenue and contacted Hamilton County Jobs and Family Services after further investigation, according to the post.

The boy's mother was arrested and accused of child endangerment in connection with the incident, said police spokesperson Lt. Steve Saunders. The mother's name was not immediately available.

Officer Jamie Landrum bought the boy a coat, pants, shoes and fresh diapers. Another officer, Will Nastold, was pictured lying on the floor next to the boy, trying to help him take a nap, according to the post.

Hamilton County Jobs and Family Services now has custody of the child, Saunders said.
