MILLINOCKET, Maine (NEWS CENTER) -- Winter weather has been stirring up around some parts of Maine since early Sunday morning.
It is also expected to be another busy day for travelers coming back from a long holiday weekend. NEWS CENTER was in the Millinocket area Sunday morning.
There was very little snow accumulation. Much of the snow began falling in northern parts of Maine late into Saturday night and early into Sunday morning.
If the winter weather continues it may also make the commute interesting for travelers coming home Sunday after the long holiday weekend.
The Maine Turnpike Authority said travelers can expect heavier than normal traffic today between 11 a.m. and 5 p.m. They said from Wednesday thru Sunday they are expecting just over one million transactions.
