PORTLAND, Maine (NEWS CENTER) -- Before, during and after the election results came in, plenty of celebrities and citizens were tweeting that if Donald Trump won the presidency, they were leaving the country.

Some Mainers even expressed interest in leaving the country, so a local radio station decided to help them do it.

Lori Voornas of Q-97.9 said no matter which way the election turned out, she would be happy to drive disappointed Mainers over the border to Montreal so they could explore the possibility of living outside the U.S. And it turns out, she had a car full of people ready to go.

They made the five hour drive to Montreal on Wednesday, but it's not a permanent trip for any of the passengers. They all plan on returning home Thursday.

Those who took the trip said they were looking forward to a nice break from politics.
