PORTLAND (NEWS CENTER Maine) -- "This is not normal stuff, I have $10 items and I have $50,000 items and everything in between"
That's is Joe Stinson talking about his Portland pawn shop, Stinson & Company. Stinson got into the business after he started helping a buddy sell things on E-Bay. He quickly caught the bug, and 4 years ago, Stinson & Company opened its doors. Not bad for a kid who dropped out of high school.
"My whole life me and my wife keep looking at each other like what? We are just Joe and Julie... What happened? I am supposed to be in a rock band somewhere, not in a pawn shop dealing antiques... when you look at me, I don't look like your antique dealer. Most people after they talk to me for a few minutes realize, I know what I am talking about"
So much so, that Stinson was contacted by a producer from the hit show Pawn Stars. He had three items the show wanted to take a look at and flew him out to Las Vegas to be on the show.
The first of Stinson's three episodes on Pawn Stars will run on January 22nd.
