PORTLAND, Maine (NEWS CENTER) -- Police departments around Maine are trying to get the word out about a Netflix phishing scam.

Millions of Netflix customers are receiving a fake e-mail saying their billing information needs to be updated and includes a link to do so.

The link will take you to a website that looks like a real Netflix page but it is a fake.

The fake site will ask for your personal information including your credit card number.

Once the hackers have your information, you will receive a message saying your account has been reactivated.

Netflix says it will never ask for any personal information over email.

The company may email you to update information with a link to its website -- but be cautious of fake emails.
