MANCHESTER, N.H. (NEWS CENTER) — A Maine man is behind bars charged with attempted murder after police say he shot a woman several times in the torso.
25-year-old Jeremy Sterling of Waterboro was arrested on Thanksgiving, Nov. 23, 2017.
New Hampshire Police say the 39-year-old woman is in critical condition after being shot while in a parking lot around. The shooting happened around 2:45 p.m. on Thursday in Manchester at 355 Brown Avenue.
Police say they believe Sterling and the woman know each other. They also said nearby residents found bullet holes in their apartments.
Sterling is scheduled to be arraigned Friday.
This is not Sterling's first brush with the law.
In 2011 Sterling led police on a high-speed chase in Lyman that ended when he crashed his car. He was charged with eluding a police officer.
