LEWISTON, Maine (NEWS CENTER) — City Councilor Shane Bouchard is the new mayor of Lewiston.
Voters chose Bouchard over community organizer Ben Chin by just under 150 votes — about 2 percent of the vote.
Chin won the initial election on Nov. 7 yet, with four others in the race including Bouchard, his 41 percent was not a majority of the total votes cast. Thus, a special mayoral runoff election was scheduled for Tuesday.
Bouchard currently represents the Lewiston residents of Ward 4.
