Auburn police investigating armed robbery at Dunkin Donuts

*UPDATE* 4/12 3:40 p.m. – Police released photos of the suspect involved in Wednesday night's armed robbery at Dunkin Donuts in Auburn.

According to Auburn Police Det. Eric Bell, the suspect is described as a white male, 20-30 years of age who is 5 feet 5 inches tall wearing a dark-hooded sweatshirt and baseball cap.

AUBURN (NEWS CENTER Maine) — Police are investigating an armed robbery at a Dunkin Donuts in Auburn. It's at least the second such incident to occur in southern Maine in the last 12 hours.

Auburn Police Chief Phillip Crowell said investigators are still looking at video from the Dunkin Donuts on Riverside Drive and, as of late Wednesday night, had no description of the suspect.

Chief Crowell said the suspect entered the fast food restaurant and brandished a handgun.

It's still unclear what or if anything was taken, Crowell said. The suspect fled on foot.

Police said there were no injuries.

Crowell said the investigation is ongoing. Police hope to release more information on the suspect's description sometime Wednesday night.
