HOULTON (NEWS CENTER MAINE) — Police arrest a pair in Aroostook County charged with trafficking heroin in the area.

Maine Drug Enforcement officers arrested 19-year-old Makayla McGuire of Houlton and 31-year-old Matthew Perry of Concord, NH Wednesday evening, Jan, 12.

State Police say agents searched an apartment at 65 Court Street in Houlton and found $10,000 worth of drugs. About 90 grams of suspected heroin and several grams of methamphetamine were taken from the home.

Drug agents had been investigation drug sales for a month from this apartment and said an undercover officer bought heroin from the home.

Perry was charged with two counts of unlawful trafficking and McGuire was charged with a single count of aggravated trafficking. Both were taken to Aroostook Country Jail and bail was set at $10,000.
