BANGOR, Maine (NEWS CENTER) -- A Greenbush man charged with manslaughter was sentenced to two and a half years in prison Wednesday at the Penobscot Judicial Center.

Police said 23-year-old Nicholas Spencer was driving a pickup truck in February 2016 when it went off of County Road in Milford, struck a large boulder, then caught fire.

His brother Matthew was killed in the crash. Another family member, Samuel Ketch, was also injured in the accident.

Assistant District Attorney ADA Marianne Lynch said Superior Court Justice William Anderson accepted Spencer’s guilty pleas to manslaughter and aggravated OUI.

Spencer was also given four years probation and will lose his license for six years when he is released.
