All residents safe after Old Orchard Beach apartment building fire

Old Orchard Beach fire chief Fred LaMontagne told NEWS CENTER Maine that the back apartment units received extensive damage

OLD ORCHARD BEACH, Maine — No one was hurt after a fire at an apartment building located at 90 Union Ave. in Old Orchard Beach Monday morning.

According to fire chief Fred LaMontagne, crews responded to the call around 11:15 a.m. where they found heavy smoke and fire in a detached multi-car garage. The back apartment united received extensive damage, he said.

About a dozen residents got out safely, according to LaMontagne.

The Saco, Scarborough, and Biddeford fire departments all assisted in the fire.
