BANGOR, Maine (NEWS CENTER) -- If you've ever experienced problems getting your mail, you aren't alone. And now lawmakers want to see changes to the U.S. Postal Service. Maine's Senators are among those who say things need to improve.
Bottom line they want to make sure when you walk through the doors at the Postal Service, to mail letters or packages to loved ones or friends it all arrives at its destination and in a timely manner.
But with consolidations and some Post Office hours cut back, lawmakers want to see changes.
Republican Senator Susan Collins and Independent Senator Angus King have joined the effort calling for improved mail service. More than 80 lawmakers in all are behind this.
They want to see improved mail delivery along with a more reliable system that's also transparent accountable. Currently reform legislation is in the U.S. House of Representatives.
Bottom line they want to ensure that when you walk into a place like this, your package or letter gets from point a to point b in an efficient and timely manner.
