Bronx men arrested with cocaine, heroin on Maine Turnpike in York

Maine State Police say they found more than 150 grams of cocaine and heroin after they stopped a car on the turnpike in York County.
Police found 100 grams of crack cocaine and 50 grams of heroin when they searched a car in York County.

YORK (NEWS CENTER Maine) — Maine State Police say they found more than 150 grams of cocaine and heroin after they stopped a car on the turnpike in York County.

Saturday Trooper Matt Williams stopped a Honda sedan for an inspection violation on I-95 heading north in York. While conducting the traffic stop, Trooper Williams called for back-up.

State Police's canine Pinny arrived and indicated that there was a presence of illegal drugs.

Troopers searched the car and found 100 grams of cocaine and 50 grams of heroin.

The two men in the car, both from the Bronx, New York were arrested. Shavod McCrea, 27, and Rasheed Ahmad, were charged with two counts each of aggravated trafficking in scheduled drugs class A. The men were taken to York County Jail.

Rasheed’s bail was set at $50,000 and Shavod’s bail was set at $100,000, due to prior criminal history.
