Bangor police investigate body found in the Penobscot River

Body discovered in Bangor waters

BANGOR (NEWS CENTER Maine) – The Bangor Police Department is investigating a body found today in the Penobscot River near the Joshua Chamberlain Bridge.

According to Bangor Detective Lieutenant Timothy Cotton, the body was discovered under a dock around 2:15 P.M. Saturday afternoon.

Cotton said they may know who the deceased is even though there was no Identification found. He said the body couldn’t be identified even by sex in its current condition, so it will be taken to the Medical Examiner’s office in Augusta for examination and determine a positive I.D. He said that will most likely take place on Monday.
