ROCHESTER, N.H. (NEWS CENTER) — Police in Rochester, New Hampshire, have made an arrest in connection with the June 12 brutal attack of an 18-year-old woman outside a fitness center.

The incident was captured on surveillance camera, showing the woman being repeatedly punched 39 times by a man in the parking lot of a Planet Fitness just after he had exited his car.

Rochester police detectives arrested 22-year-old Jordan Lamonde of Portsmouth Monday afternoon at Portsmouth Regional Hospital and charged him with Class B second-degree assault. They did not disclose why Lamonde happened to be at the hospital.

About a month ago, and less than two weeks after the assault, Rochester police announced they had a "strong suspect" in the case.

"This was a vicious, unprovoked attack that shocked our community," said Police Chief Toussaint. "I am proud to report that the suspect has been identified and apprehended."

Police said Lamonde was held on $150,000 cash bail and will be arraigned 11:30 a.m. Tuesday at Strafford County Superior Court.
