LIMINGTON (NEWS CENTER Maine) — Before any of it can reach your doorstep, a shipment of Amazon merchandise will need to be recovered from an overturned truck on the side of a Maine highway.

The Ryder rental truck went off Sokokis Trail near Brackett's Orchard in Limington around 5:30 a.m. on Monday.

The York County Sheriff's Office said the driver, 24-year-old Predrag Manjerovic of Washington State, told them he over-corrected after drifting across the center line and lost control of the truck. Manjerovic freed himself from the wreck. Police said he was not hurt.

To deal with the estimated five gallons of fuel and transmission fluid that leaked from the truck, the Maine Dept. of Environmental Protection dispatched a cleanup crew. Also on the scene were responders from the Limington and Limerick Fire Departments.

Police warned drivers to expect the road to be closed while the truck is turned upright and hauled away.
