VASSALBORO, Maine - A Portland woman was arrested and charged with possession after a variety of drugs were found in her purse Thursday, police said.

Santiago, 36, was a passenger in a car, that was stopped for an expired inspection sticker on Bog Rd., in Vassalboro.

According to police, due to a prior arrest for selling heroin, police were able to search the suspect for drugs, without articulable suspicion or probable cause.

Several needles, cotton ball filters, plastic bags and Narcan were found in Santiago's purse. One of the needles contained a brown liquid that tested positive for heroin.
