It's that time of year when Portland Stage begins it's holiday season. This year they are trying something a little new. They are doing an adaptation of the classic movie, It's A Wonderful Life, but they are doing this as a radio play. The actors will be on stage with what is known in the business as Foley artist, the experts responsible for making those noises of feet walking on pavement.
Two of the actors sat down with us in the studio to talk about this experience. This is a recreation of how entertainment was received before the days of television. The actors play many different parts, and interact with the Foley artists in the background and the audience can experience this interaction as it happens.
The show opens November 24, and tickets can be purchased at https://www.portlandstage.org/.
