(NEWS CENTER) -- "Extreme Survivors: Animals That Time Forgot" is a scientific look at creatures that haven't changed much through evolution.

Author Kimberly Ridley loves science, and travels to schools with her stories, not only teaching kids about fun facts and creatures, but also teaching them how to write creatively.

Ridley is a 10th generation Mainer who likes to talk about Maine creatures, including the Tardigrade "Zombie Bear" which stomps through moss like a bear; can survive a trip into space; and can come back from the dead.

Kimberly Ridley will be hosting a book signing on December 2nd at The Owl and Turtle in Camden.
