UPDATE: Officials say most of the occupants were out of the house when they arrived, but flames were too intense for them to go inside upon arrival. Fire investigations Sgt. Joel Davis says they are working to determine the cause of fire. The identities of victims won't be released until family, who is out of state, is notified.

BOOTHBAY, Maine (NEWS CENTER) -- Two men are dead and four others are injured after a house fire in Boothbay Sunday morning, according to state spokesperson Stephen Mcausland.

The fire on Pleasant Cove Road was reported just before 8 a.m. The four injured were taken to hospitals in Damariscotta and Portland.

The occupants were renting the home for the weekend. Four fire marshal investigators are on scene.
