SKOWHEGAN, Maine (NEWS CENTER) – After 300 nominations across the state, Maine has a new Teacher of the Year.
The Skowhegan Area Middle School celebrated one of their own as the 2017 Maine Teacher of the Year- Tamara Ranger.
“It’s a tremendous honor to be an ambassador for Maine teachers in 2017,” said Ranger.
Ranger’s been teaching for 16 years and was recognized for her commitment to teaching excellence and preparing Maine people for the future.
Ranger is now in the running to be named the 2017 National Teacher of the Year.
