BLUE HILL, Maine (NEWS CENTER) -- Fire crews battled an early morning fire at a home in Hancock County. The home is on Pleasant Street in Blue Hill. Blue Hill Assistant Fire Chief Matthew Dennison said that the call came in around 5 a.m. Thursday morning.
He said seven occupants made it out safely. It took fire crews about an hour and a half to get the fire under control. When crews arrived on scene the house was fully involved.
The house is a total loss and the cause remains unknown. Five fire departments responded including Blue Hill. Orland, Penobscot, Brooklin and Sedgwick.
The Assistant Chief said fire crews were able to save the barn and the cattle as well.
The Fire Marshal's Office has been notified.
