HOUSTON, Texas (KPRC) -- A 5-year-old Texas boy is being described as a hero after pulling his little brother from the burning wreckage of a big-rig crash that killed their father.
According to police, the father was driving an 18-wheeler moving truck along I-45 in Houston when he lost control, ran off the road and hit a guardrail before slamming into a pillar. The United Van Lines trailer burst into flames.
The 5-year-old boy, who was ejected from the big rig, pulled his younger brother from the wreckage, officials said.
"He's a trooper. He was ejected. He was sitting down, talking to us," Houston Police Sgt. James Roque said. "He was giving us everyone's name and he was asking about his father. He helped us out a lot to piece together a lot of things we would not have known."
