PORTLAND, Maine (NEWS CENTER) -- All aboard to the North Pole!
The Polar Express left the station in Portland on Saturday as the Maine Narrow Gauge Railroad Co. and Museum transformed its train into a scene from the beloved children's book.
Kids talked to the conductor, drank hot chocolate and listened to a reading of "The Polar Express." Santa Claus also stopped by to say hello to everyone.

Each kid went home with a bell, just like in the story.
