BANGOR (NEWS CENTER Maine) — Mainers can thank organizers of the American Folk Festival for reminding them that summer is on the way even as they endure a late-season snowstorm.
As a showcase of America's vast cultural diversity through music, the annual event is a high point of Bangor's social calendar, drawing thousand of visitors to the waterfront. It runs for three days from August 24-26.
On Thursday morning, organizers showed they are already hard at work getting the festival ready by revealing the first wave of performers to join the lineup.
