Carnaval Maine ticket sales to help local non-profit

The non-profit, Winterkids, works to get kids outside and active during the cold winter months.

PORTLAND, Maine — Carnaval Maine will transform the Eastern Prom in Portland into a winter wonderland on January 30 through February 2, 2020.

Mainers and locals will experience art installations, food pairings and special igloo soiree events.

Today, organizers made an announcement about how ticket sales will go to help the Maine non-profit, Winterkids.

Winterkids will receive 100% of ticket sales up to $10,000 today until tomorrow. An anonymous donor will match that amount.

"For us to be able to partner with Shamrock on an event like this, to bring a large scale winter promenade and introduce that to our winter kids family feels really special," Julie Mulkern, Winterkids executive director said.

Winterkids works with children to get outside and active during the cold winter months.

"This is an event for all ages and at the end of the day we knew that there was a way that we could make a difference here," Brian Corcoran, Shamrock Sports & Entertainment CEO said.
